Lots of tat for sale

Need to empty my shelves as loads of stuff has accumulated over years and most will never be used by me again. So all is up for grabs. Some obviously has a proper value so will sell at sensible prices. Other stuff I have priced to move to a new home where it might be of value. Open to offers though and will make a generous forum donation dependant on how much stuff actually goes. I have 9 pages of bits so apologies for long list!. Photos on request.... most of it looks like every other thing that looks the same. Google will show you if in any doubt what something is! No hurry to shift stuff so transport may be possible via various challenge events/land rover shows etc but happy to post/courier at cost. I use Interparcel.com and most stuff seems to fall in the 2-20kg bracket and is around £7-£10. Collection also possible from SE Wales not far from Hereford. PM me in first instance if interested. I fear I may get confused so please bear with me. Will be at the Whitbread Challenge next weekend so can bring stuff there for couriering on.

Steve200TDi's TD5 hard top build

Hi,

Some of you may know that I bought Bob's Red TD5 90 from him in mid February.

I've been using the Red and Blue one (the 200Tdi!) for the last couple of months, but now it's time to get stuck in on the build of the Red one.

I was original going to fit challenge wings and a roll cage to the Blue one, but now things have changed!

So, from now until the start of July I have two months to hopefully get the following done for the Scott Williams Memorial Winch Challenge.

- Challenge wings, these will look like standard wings.
- An internal/external roll cage, front hoop, internal rear hoop with back stays all joined together with full length roof bars.
- A TD5 rear winch bumper, this will look simular to the one on the Blue one but with the centre portion pretruding out.

These are the three main things I want to get done, but there will be other bits and pieces I'll be doing along the way as well as doing other bits after July!

Today was mostly spent on tucking the front bumper as near to the front chassis crossmember and intercooler as possible. There was a two inch gap between the winch and intercooler and so with a bit of cutting and redrilling I managed to move it back 1 and 3/4 inches!

After:

Next I'll be removing the wings to fit the challenge wings, here you can see them mocked up on the Blue one a while ago.

I'll be also mocking up the rear hoop so that I can get as much done before I remove the rear tub for the chassis roll cage mounts and rear winch bumper.

The rear bumper will look a bit like the Blue one's:

As this will be my everyday vehicle I'll be adding litle bits like heated wing mirror, rear speakers, rear seats, LED rear lights, waffle board holder for the roof and obviously my new dash as it fits straight in, just needs a little modifying to accept the TD5 gauges.

Auto box oil starvation

Hello All,

I'm thinking about fitting an AW4 autobox pulled from a Cherokee to my Jeep, replacing an AX15 manual box. My understanding is that manual boxes will operate at pretty much any angle, whilst autos can suffer from oil starvation when run at severe angles and causing drive to be lost. One possible solution to this is to fit a deeper/larger oil pan to increase oil volume? What do folks think? If I go auto, will cool auto box via radiator and seperate cooler fitted with a fan.
