Folks

Project Mobility will be at Stoneleigh

As well as asking for cash donations like all good charitable organisations: we reckon it might be easier on the pocket but still as morally satisfying if folk could donate parts. We are talking 'parts' that have lain in the back of the garage or workshop for ages, ones that you will never use; but we can.

ORRP have been kind enough to organise all the facilities for the injured servicemen coming to the show. They have also offered to collect, sort and transport to build venues the donated parts that will either be used on vehicle builds or sold on to raise funds for builds.

So if you are coming to the show please see what you can do; or give me or Jase Farr a PM and I will move on any donations

Just a sobering reminder

UK forces have lost 325 personel in Afghanistand since the conflict started, with 3,674 admited to field hospitals, 1,199 of whome were injured in action. Of those 363 were deemed as serious and 181 as very serious - 120 of whom are amputees (figures are 3 months old except for the deaths). Our dead, who must be honoured, are gone but our seriously injured still have lives to live... I for one cannot and will not walk by, that's why I'm asking for your help

Nick, simple stuff really. The most cost effective vehicles for us to spec up are Discovery 300Tdi Autos, followed by Defender 300Tdi's

If you think of all the things that wear out; or where having a spare set allows re-furbishment. For example re-bushing - having a full set of arms and a panahard rod spare makes life so much easier
Other things like Hubs, calipers, decent standard half shafts, door locks....
Another good example: we have had donated a decent 300Tdi Auto - a good vehicle but with a blown head gasket and warped head. I think the head maybe toast but Hamlyns will crack test and skim a head for us at cost, so I need to find a reasonable head.
Propshafts, diffs - nothing more than standard
Just think of what you would replace or refurbish on a vehicle to make it reliable

I'll send you the deatils you asked for on your pm later this evening
